Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

JerIt's really hard to walk into a Tim Burton movie like this and not expect Nightmare Before Christmas. Nightmare was Tim's masterpiece. Corpse Bride wasn't Nightmare. There I said it. Time to move on.

The animation was spectacular. Tim continues to hone his eye for detail, and I will never get tired of seeing more of his signature style. The character designs were clever, and I wish I was smart enough to name the famous illustrator that many of the characters were based off of. I'm sure one of my crew-mates will tell me later.

The story was adorable, maybe a little predictable but the finaly was worth it. The music was kinda forced, and just not up to par with what I expect from Danny the man Elfman. The supporting cast - albeit imagintively designed - were just very difficult to connect with.

Corpse Bride is imagintive and fun, but it's not Nightmare. I'm sure if it weren't for Nightmare setting such a high standard I would have enjoyed Corpse bride more, but Unfortunately that's where things stand.

It's not Nightmare, but it's still very good. I give it two beers.

*sighs* Danny... you let me down, man.
