After quitting Facebook, I adopted Reddit as my new life-wasting website. It's a fun place.
The other day, Reddit user dontbthatguy expressed his/her dismay that the Cosco box of Pop-Tarts contained no iPad sized Pop-Tarts. I subsequently promised to try and make iPad sized Pop-Tarts.
Let's take a look at the process.
- Pie Crust.
- Home made strawberry jam.
- Rainbow motherfucking sprinkles.
- Powdered Sugar and Milk Frosting, little bit of corn starch.
Assembly went smoothly.
Frosting was a little thin, I added too much milk.
Sprinkles. Because sprinkles.
Bake it at 375 for over 9000 seconds.
Part of this complete breakfast.
All kidding aside, this turned out great and tastes about 10 times better than actual Pop-Tarts. It also has Tolkien's "Lembas Bread" effect: one small bite and you're full for days. Actually, come to think of it...
"The food [Lembas Bread] was mostly in the form of very thin cakes, made of meal that was baked a light brown on the outside, and inside was the colour of cream."
- The Two Towers, J.R.R. Tolkien
...I always thought of them as Pop-Tarts.
