Normally I'm not one to go in for all the technical hoodoo being put into modern anime these days. I often yearn for the traditional, completely cell-based animation I've grown up with...I'm just a fuddy-duddy that way I guess. However even I must drop a massive jaw when I see something such as this. It's been many years since I've seen Appleseed, I only remember that it was badass at the time and, judging by the looks of this new venture, will be bottling badass for purchase at a theatre near you (or most likely not unless you live in New York or California).

In other infinitely cool news Marvel's managed to put together a trio that has finally made the Fatastic Four interesting. Writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, penciller Steve McNiven, and tracer;) Mark Morales have crafted such an awesome story wherein the First Family of superheroics are rendered not quite so super. Forced out of their lavish digs at the Baxter Building and into a small apartment in Washington Heights, plenty of family bickering and foolish pride rears it's nasty head. Of course it helps if Washington Heights is rendered by Steve McNiven and Mark Morales who demonstrate a Midas touch with the pen and ink. Thing's "ever-lovin' blue eyes" have never looked better (at least in my not so humble opinion). Between New X-Men, "Max" Punisher, and this Marvel Knights rendition of the FF, Marvel's gradually distracting my once DC and Indy led attentions. Go ahead and check these out if you even remotely consider yourself to be "into" comics and if you happen to live around the Washington D.C./Metro area swing by Big Planet Comics (especially the Vienna store *cheap plug for a cool comic shop-runnin' friend*) you won't be disappointed!
