Katsucon X is this weekend. Jenn, Myself, and Xrys will definitely be there. I haven't heard word from Jason or Seffinga, but I wouldn't put it past 'em to make an appearance. However, we have been unable to obtain positive confirmation of our artist table. We signed up for Artist's Ally, but we might have gotten boned out of our table. I won't really know for sure until we get there. I give it a 50/50 chance.
I'm going to make a declaration. Most of you have seen me get a face full of frying pan this week. The truth is, just about everything I do to tinker with Splurd is just a new way to procrastinate my dreaded yet beloved dream project. As near as I can figure, it's been eight years since I started dreaming up The Elves of Iax. Since then, I've been writing and rewriting, drawing and redrawing, never happy with it, always obsessed with making it better. I kept putting off making the final version, waiting for someone or something to come along and tell me what I need to do, or wave a magic wand and make my writing and artwork as beautiful as I want them to be. It probably shouldn't have taken eight years to realize it isn't going to happen, but I never claimed that I was quick.
Over the course of The Elves of Iax's development, I started the "Final Version" three times. Last week, I started the fourth.
These are the pages of the introduction to The Elves of Iax, which I am working on as a Ten-Strip Comic. If I manage to complete this without getting sidetracked, I'm going to start on the first chapter. I need to remember how to focus. I'm going to need a lot of help, a lot of support, and a lot of frying pans, because I intend to have it finished by August... by my 26th Birthday... by the one time when all members of Splurd come from all corners of the earth.
This weekend, I shall swear it. EOI by Otakon.
