I'm having a party today.
Since I moved to Seattle, I spent most of my time living in a tiny closet sized apartment by the train tracks in Magnolia. It was comfy, but not a place to invite guests to. Due largely to karma, I now find myself renting a townhouse all by myself. Today marks the first time in years I've had the capacity to entertain. Time for a Pizza Party, SPLURD STYLE!

Pizza dough, pizza dough, two bowls full.

You can't tell from the picture, but this sauce will blow your mind. Fire roasted tomatoes!
It's a game I learned since moving to this town. You make a whole bunch of pizza dough and sauce, then invite people to bring their own ingredients. I got some basics to start people off.

I can't say for sure that it's an official northwest tradition, but it damn well should be. I've been to pizza parties where folks have built permanent brick ovens in their back yard. This is definitely something I aspire to achieve. In the meantime, I think I've got a handle on making this awesome.

Pizza stone? Check.

Music? Check.

Drinks? Check. Folks are bringing more. I grabbed "Working Girl Red" because the label reminds me of Natalie.

Dranks? Check. I need to pick up some Punch to make this officially Splurd.
If I were a god, my first choice would be god of movement, but if that's not an option I'll happily accept god of tasty beverages.
So the moral of this story is I'm throwing a party for the hell of it because I finally can, and it should be bloody awesome.
