I love independent comics

One of my greatest joys is to go to a comic convention to spend money on comics no one else has heard of. I seek out the artist booths with no lines selling any type of comic, from ashcan to anthology. A few years in, I've found myself with a delightful collection.

This is a catalogue of the indie, underground, unheard-of, home-brew and just plain great comics I've found over the years. Some are full color custom prints, some are photo-copied scribbles, yet all of them deserve to be seen.

The books on this list are books that I own a physical copy of. If you see something missing from the list, I might not even know about it yet! Feel free to educate me by sending an email to studio.splurd@gmail.com. Please put the words "Indie Library" in the subject line.

It's not my place to say which of these are good, better or best. You'll find my notes on what to expect with each book - and I'll certainly have more to say about my favorites - but I'm making an effort not to rate these books. Different people respond differently to different comics, so I just want to shed a little more light on these works than there was before. Please enjoy flipping through, and check back often as I find new works!
